The Bossa Nova Superfruit Company is committed to exploring and discovering nature’s most potent superfruits and turning them into juice beverages that are cravably delicious. Through this commitment, Bossa Nova proudly offers ten juice beverages. With a taste so exotically delicious, our juice beverages are music to your mouth and pure art to your body.
We place a premium on quality by selecting only the freshest fruits and handpicking our organic açai berries at peak ripeness. Upon harvesting, our superfruits become pulp in just hours. The fruits are carefully handled through our proprietary process to maximize antioxidant levels and to deliver an exotically, delicious taste. We then add a minimum of all-natural complementary ingredients, like low-glycemic agave nectar, while rejecting refined sweeteners and cheap filler juices such as apple or white grape juice. Bossa Nova also uses a flash pasteurization process to maximize taste and freshness while providing juice beverages without preservatives.
In addition to our commitment to exceptional taste, ingredients, and nutrition, Bossa Nova Superfruit Company follows sustainable harvesting methods, features an eco-sensitive production process and bottles each of the delicious juice beverages in containers that are 100% recyclable. We work with the highest quality suppliers and maintain strict, sustainable harvesting guidelines to promote economic opportunity while preserving the natural integrity of the local environment.
Our focus is to deliver deliciously, cravable juice beverages with meaningful nutrition. To meet this goal, all of our açai runs through a special process which maximizes antioxidants while removing less-desirable nutrients in the pulp. (1) Fibers are removed to provide a smooth, drinkable texture. (2) Lipids are filtered out to avoid any unpleasant off-flavors as well as the need for emulsifiers, like soy lecithin.
Açai is not very palatable, so we choose to run our açai pulp through a state-of-the-art process to maximize antioxidants before using a minimal amount of complementary ingredients, like organic agave nectar, to deliver a smooth, luscious taste. The FDA has a very clear formula for calculating the percentage of juice in a product. We believe in following all regulatory requirements, such as labeling our juice beverages (from 0-100% Juice) with the percentage of juice directly above Nutrition Facts.
Nutrient values, such as sugars and calories, are based on the declared serving size of each product. The standard serving size as prescribed by FDA is 8 FL OZ for beverages such as Bossa Nova. However, since we expect that a consumer would consume an entire 10 FL OZ bottle, we declare sugar and calories on the entire contents of our single serve bottles. For our 32 FL OZ bottles, we expect consumers to pour several servings which is why those nutrient declarations are based on the standard FDA serving size of 8 FL OZ.
When our body cells use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals (byproducts), which are linked to a variety of diseases and symptoms of premature aging. Antioxidants seek out and eliminate free radicals, both preventing and repairing damage.
Free radicals are unstable atoms or molecules present in the body that can cause damage to cells, protein and DNA. That damage can result in visible aging, disease, and general unwellness.
Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals your body needs everyday in small amounts. These include carotenoids, vitamin E and zinc.
Because superfruits are low in natural sugars, we add agave nectar to achieve an optimally light sweetness. Agave, a cactus-like plant, is the source of a sweetener with two clear advantages over other sweeteners: a low Glycemic Index, and a light, neutral flavor that perfectly compliments the flavor of superfruits.
Glycemic Index (GI) is a scale that measures the speed at which sugars from a given food enter the bloodstream. It's useful in determining the impact of food on blood sugar levels. Lower GI ingredients deliver a more sustained energy release than higher GI ingredients.
Bossa Nova avoids adding caffeine, guarana, or other stimulants to our products. We prefer to highlight what we call the "truth of the fruit," the naturally occurring antioxidants that make superfruits so special.
